Elliot Health System is pleased to announce that it raised more than $250,000 during the 20th annual Elliot Health System Gala on September 16th. Funds will support advanced surgical services at The Elliot. With more than 350 guests in attendance to support The Elliot, friends, sponsors and staff were delighted to bring back this beloved event, last held in 2019.
One of the many highlights of the event was hearing an inspiring patient story from Curtis Quinn, MD, which highlighted advances in thoracic surgery and the positive impacts for life-saving surgeries a new Hybrid Operating Room (Hybrid OR) suite will bring to our community. Funds raised from the Gala will be used to provide this leading-edge technology to patients starting in Spring 2023.
“We are overwhelmed by the support that was received for The Elliot. Providing innovative, compassionate patient care is our priority, and the generosity of our donors during our event will help to change lives of individuals in our community,” said Kelli Rafferty, Executive Director of SolutionHealth Philanthropy and Community Engagement. “A Hybrid Operating Room suite enhances the services and procedures that The Elliot can expertly provide—this new facility will make a lasting impact on the lives of many patients. We extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to each individual and corporate partner that is helping us to deliver the best in care to our patients.”
The Hybrid OR is a surgical suite that encompasses state of the art imaging and a comprehensive medical team to serve the patient all in the same room. It allows for real-time images during complex procedures with little to no disruption to patient care. The technology allows minimally invasive surgery to transition to an open procedure if needed, and it offers increased flexibility during both minimally invasive and open procedures by limiting travel to different areas of the hospital prior to surgery for radiologic imaging.
