Congratulations to Elliot Health System on a successful reaccreditation survey with Det Norske Veritas Healthcare, Inc (DNV-GL)

For a hospital to be eligible to receive Medicare or Medicaid payments it must meet certain “Conditions of Participation” (CoP) set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). A common way hospitals achieve this is by partnering with a CMS-deemed organization like DNV-GL, which surveys participating hospitals annually.

By earning DNV-GL re-accreditation, Elliot Health System has demonstrated objective evidence that meets the standard requirements set forth by DNV-GL. These include the National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO®), which are the integrated requirements developed by DNV-GL’s hospital accreditation program. The NIAHO® standards integrate requirements based on the CMS CoPs with the internationally recognized ISO 9001 Standard for the formation and implementation of a Quality Management System.

“I am immensely proud of our organization, we had the opportunity to showcase all that we do, and we received validation of much of the activities that have become part of our standard, daily work, which was critical to our ability to respond and serve in this pandemic. The surveyors expressed many kudos throughout the three-day survey about staff engagement, our quality management system, and culture. I thank everyone at Elliot Health System for all their contributions that help make us the successful organization that we are,” Dr. Greg Baxter, President of Elliot Health System and Chief Clinical Officer for SolutionHealth, says about the re-accreditation.

For the first time in its history, Elliot Health System was recommended for ISO certification. As previously mentioned, ISO standards are integrated in the DNV-GL accreditation model required to achieve accreditation. It’s a management system developed by the independent international organization ISO that enable organizations to manage their quality, business, and compliance through the building and execution of a quality management system to drive transformation through the organization’s people, process, and purpose.

“This is such a huge milestone. We should all take a minute to think about the goal we all achieved together,” Dr. Baxter says.
