Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) of Manchester & Southern New Hampshire, part of Elliot Health System, announces the election of two new members to its Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees is responsible for providing high-level oversight and governance to support the mission and purpose of the organization.
“Our new members bring a wide range of experience to our Board and we are grateful to have them join us,” said Vice President VNA of Manchester & Southern New Hampshire Rachel Chaddock. “Their years of experience, varied professional backgrounds, and dedication to the health of our Greater Manchester area will make a great impact on our work to care for our community.”
We are pleased to introduce new members of VNA of Manchester & Southern New Hampshire’s new Board of Trustees:
Charles Goodwin is a lifelong resident of Manchester. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Charles is the retired former owner and president of the Goodwin Funeral Home. Charles has many years of involvement with Elliot Health System, he is currently a member of The Elliot Board of Directors, Vice Chair of the Mary and John Elliot Charitable Foundation Board, and a member of the Pearl Manor Fund Committee. In 2019 he was co-chair of the “Hope is Here” campaign for the Solinsky Center for Cancer Care at the Elliot Hospital. He has previously served on the VNA of Manchester & Southern New Hampshire Board. Charles is committed to the health and well-being of our community, serving as a Board Member of EastersealsNH, and he is a Trustee of the Cogswell Benevolent Trust and the Frederick Smyth Institute of Music.
Elaine Michaud is currently employed by the City of Manchester Health Department as the supervisor of the Neighborhood & Family Health Branch. She is also a member of their senior leadership team. Elaine develops, implements, and manages projects aimed at addressing social determinants of health impacting many of the diverse populations in Manchester. She also collaborates and partners with numerous community and state organizations, healthcare systems, and city departments on initiatives to achieve health equity. Elaine is a graduate of Dartmouth College, the University of Maine School of Law, and the T.H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University. After 26 years as an attorney, Elaine has shifted her career focus to public health and is committed to positively impacting our communities. She is currently serving as Board Chair for the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester. Elaine has also been the recipient of many awards including past selection as a New Hampshire 40 Under 40. Elaine brings a great understanding to the Board regarding the challenges facing the Manchester community, the impact of social determinants of health, and health equity. Elaine currently lives in Manchester.
